Is it really 8 days until Christmas....

This was from Darrens 30th Birthday party in Oct, It was an 80s bash and we had a blast!

The girls at the 80s bash, Im pretty sure the 80s add about 20 lbs to you! :)

This was at the Devylder wedding Darren was in, in Oct.we had a great time with Great friends!!

We took Dillon out for some fall pictures in the corn fields, he LOVED the corn!

Dillon at the pumpkin patch, he tested them all out by sitting on them! It was too cute! We had a great time picking out the perfect one, and Dillon loved riding on the Hay wagon to the patch and running up and down the aisles.

We finally found the perfect one!! (notice the short sleeves and sweat, it was about 90 degrees this weekend in October, incredibly too hot for the pumpkin patch!)

Dillon the little scarecrow! He loved his outfit and LOVED his hat! I was so glad he liked to keep it on! He had a blast trick or treating this year and got the hang of telling everyone "trick or treat" too! His favorite treats were the Smarties! :)

Moving on to November, I dont have any pics of Thanksgiving on here, but I do have this picture from the day (well night of) after! This was the line at Toys R Us in Lafayette, that Me, Mom and my sister all stood in to get the best deals on toys! Keep in mind this picture was taken on the back side of the store and we waited almost 3 hours total in lines that evening at Toys R Us! We had a fun filled night and morning and next day of shopping, and if you ask me, it was worth saving all the money! Although next year there is talk of shopping online! :)

Darren's company had a Christmas party for the kids at Jillians downtown Indy a couple weekends ago and it was a Breakfast with Santa. So, we took the opportunity to take Dillon to meet Santa. He was so so excited to see him and was all ready to tell him what he wanted for Christmas, until he really saw him. Then he did not care if he told Santa what he wanted or not. :) In this picture though, he did get to tell him that he wanted Cookies for Christmas! And believe it or not, that is all that he has told us that he wants this year!

This is the best we could get for a picture with Santa this year. We are going to settle for the family pic with Santa! :) It works for this year, and cute memories!
I dont have too much to update on, just had to post some picture of between September and now. Im sure there will be plenty more of our Chrismas celebrations coming up! We start tonight with Dillons first experience of Christmas at the zoo! With all the snow we have gotten Im sure it is going to be beautiful!
Hope everyone is staying Healthy and enjoying this Holiday time! We will post more soon! Merry Christmas and Love to you all!

The last two months in pictures...

We are so exctied to have a new addition to the family! We are the proud Aunt, Uncle and cousin to Miss Kierstin Darlene Conner!! She is so precious and we love her so much! As you can see, Dillon and big brother Corbin can't get enough of her!

Dillon Loves to cheer for the Boilers! He even knows how to do the cheer we say Boiler up and he says "toot toot" and moves his arm! Its adorable! (He also loves driving his little golf cart around too)

Dillon can also say "Go Colts" now and loves to watch the games with Mommy and Daddy!

Darren just recently put in new hard wood floors in our Living room and hall way and Dillon spent the day at home helping Daddy! He was a big help and I have to say, I have two very handsome and talented Handy Men in my house! The floors are beautiful!

We took a weekend family vacation to St.Louis with Darrens side of the family in July. We had a blast and were so glad we got to go! Darren and Dillon and I went last year and Dillon, being a year older, enjoyed Grants Farm and the zoo so much more! This was the first time he ever rode the Carousel. He LOVED it! And Mommy did too!

Just a sweet little picture to show Dillon's cheesy little smile!! I just love looking at this picture! It makes me smile everytime!

At the zoo we made Dillon his first "Build a Bear". He picked everthing out (except the clothing, daddy helped with that! It ended up being a St.Louis Cardinal outfit). He loves his little Tiger soo much!

This is Daddy and Dillon helping dress, Bugga the Tiger in his Cardinals outfit! The name is different yes, but while filling out the birth certificate, Darren asked Dillon what his name should be and Dillon replied with "Bugga" so that is his name and it has stuck ever since! He sleeps with Bugga every night and Bugga has to have a blankie on just like Dillon!

We got to pet some stingrays at the zoo and Dillon didnt quite understand why he couldn't just jump in the water. It was fun to watch him touch in the water, but I dont think a ray ever got close enough to him.

This is Dillon at the County Fair. He had to get some special boots so he could help Aunt Key Key (thats what Dillon has named Kristen) with her sheepy. He absolutly loves these boots and to this day still has to wear them around the house.

He thought he was big stuff helping her trim and fit her lambs for show day! This is on show day and he is showing everyone that "they" got a blue ribbon!

He had to help Uncle Michael make sure everything was ready to go for show. I put this picture up because you can see the huge similarity in looks with these two! Its almost scary! He loves his Uncle Michael so much!

This is a picture of Dillon at the State Fair this year. We got to go for a couple hours one morning because thats all we could handle with the heat this year. It was at least 92 degrees every day of the state fair, so we decided to go one morning. Dillon loved looking at the John Deere tractors and he loved the baby piggies.

As you can see, we have been quite busy these last couple months. We loved our small vacation and keeping busy with all the activities of the summer but boy oh boy are we ready to slow down a little! We are getting ready for Fall and hoping that we get a litte down time before all the Holidays get started. They will be here before we know it! Dillon has grown and learned so much in these last couple months its unbelievable! He is talking and saying new things everyday! I abosolutly love this age and love that he can talk and start to tell me whats wrong and what he wants. He is very into Farm animals and tractors right now. Especially the Baas (thanks to Grandma Judy aka Mamaw Baa) and the Horseys (thanks to Pa and aunt Tina). He knows that the sheepy eat Corn and Oats and the Horseys eat Hay and Apples and they all sleep in the barns. He can also tell you what all the animals sound like. He also loves trains right now and loves watching and playing with Thomas the train, (thanks to Papaw). He loves watching Football and baseball with Daddy and he still loves to cuddle and watch tv with Mommy! Another favorite of his is going to church and playing with the kiddos. They have a little learning session with Pastor Randy at the begining of church and Dillon aboslutly loves to go up there and sit (most of the time) and listen to the story with the big kids! Its so precious and it means so much to me that he loves going to church and it will be a big part of him growing up like it was for me!
Coming up in the Hughes Household: In October we have another wedding that Darren is in and are looking forward to attending. I think this is the last one for this year! And I can't say that we aren't happy about that! :) Darren will also be celebrating his 30th birthday on the 14th of October and we are having a little party at our house in 80s style! We are also looking forward to a couple trips to the Pumpkin Patch with Dillon this year and hoping for alittle warmer weather than last year. We are also excited for Zoo Boo and trick or treating.
Stay tuned for more pictures of our events in October. I imagine there will be several~with hopefully some more family pictures and portraits of Dillon!

Dillon's New Golf Clubs

Dillon loved the beach - Heritage Lake one that is!

Darren and I at the Bellagio in Las Vegas

Darren and I after the wedding in Vegas

Dillon loves his "Sissy" sooo much!
Well here we are again, two months later! There really isn't a whole lot to update on, just thought I would share some recent pictures. We have been super busy I feel like, but I can't really pin point what exactly it is we are so busy with. But its summer and I know that everyone is super busy too! Darren and I got back from our trip to Vegas the middle of June. We had a blast and were so excited we could share in a such a special event with our friends Greg and Alison. We got to spend alot of time with some friends we dont get to see too often and it was such a nice break! It was a busy vacation and not so much a relaxing one, but it was alot of fun! We are hoping to plan a relaxing vacation soon filled with beaches, sun and pools! We will see! :)
Dillon is continuing to grow and amaze us everyday! He is such a smart little (not so little anymore) boy! He is saying new words everyday and repeating things we do and things we say now. It hasn't been that big of a challenge lately but I know those days are right around the corner. His favorite word right now is "more" and we are struggling with trying to get him to say a different word when asking for something he wants. He says "more" when he wants more to drink or eat or to go outside or basically anything he wants is "more". He is doing much better with saying "milk" or "cookie" or "out" instead of "more" and we are very greatful for that! :) He is also getting to be all boy and not so much baby anymore. He loves to watch baseball and basketball with his Daddy and he loves to wrestle around with Daddy and Bella! He loves to be outside doing whatever his Daddy is doing or helping him with whatever it is he is working on. I came outside the other day to find his little bitty legs sticking out from underneath my car, working on something with his Daddy under there. Although he loves to do those things with Darren, he is still my little cuddlebug and loves to give me hugs and kisses and I thank God for that! I just know that he will always be my little love bug no matter how dirty he gets or no matter what hes doing.
Next week is our county fair here and we (Dillon and I) are sooo excited! I love this time of year, and I just know that Dillon will too. He absolutly loves sheep and cows and he has been helping Aunt Kristen get ready with her sheep for the fair. We will be out there a couple nights and then all day on Wednesday for Kristens show day. Im looking forward to seeing everyone we dont normally see and not to mention all the fair food! Forget the diet for a week! :) At the end of fair week we are headed out to St.Louis for a weekend with Darrens family. We are so excited to get to go to a Cardinals game and to go to Grant's Farm and the Zoo. We did the same with Dillon last year, but this year he will love it even more!
We are looking forward to more coming up. I have decided to become a Lia Sophia advisor and sell something that I really am passionate about. (it is a line of jewelry, for those of you who do not know what Lia is. Visit my website at www.liasophia.com/meganhughes) That will be coming up in August when I have my starter show and start booking more parties. I am looking forward to nights with friends and women who also share the love of Lia Sophia. And Im also looking forward to saving up my earnings for my vacation fund! :) In the future future we are hoping to take Dillon to Disney world next year to see Mickey Mouse. I could not be more excited and Im hoping that by selling Lia Sophia it will help with the financial part of it and we can enjoy planning a family vacation to FL next fall! This money will also go toward hopefully a vacation for Darren and I with some friends to a beach for a couples get-a-way! :) We'll see!
Hope you all are doing well! I will update soon with some fair pictures and more!

My beautiful blue-eyed baby boy
I can't really say that we have big news to share, we've just been busy with a lot since February as you can see. Dillon had his first Easter egg hunts this year and absolutly loved it! He wasn't quite sure why he couldn't just pick up one egg and eat or play with that one and be done, but he got the idea after 4 hunts. We also got to take Dillon to the Indianapolis Zoo for the first time this year. It was absolutly beautiful day outside for it. It was very crowded but that added to Dillon's excitement as he loves to watch people. We will definitely be looking into a zoo pass this year so we can go back. Dillon is for sure an animal lover just like his Mommy! Darren has been busy with traveling some to Ohio as well as assistant coaching Baseball here at Greencastle. Golf has now started for him too, needless to say Daddy isn't home much in the evenings right now. When he is, we make sure we spend as much time with him as possible. I just recently got back from my girls trip to Florida. I have to admit, it was the most relaxing vacation Ive been on yet. It was so nice to only have to take care of myself and to go to bed when I wanted and to wake up when I wanted and to do what I wanted. I can't lie, I missed my baby boy like CRAZY! I think I drove Darren and his parents nuts by calling all the time to check on him and to hear his voice, but it got me through the week. And then to see him run to me with open arms at the airport when we flew in was the most priceless thing I have ever seen! The tears started instantly! Darren and I are getting ready to leave on another short vacation to Las Vegas in a couple weeks. We are really looking forward to a vacation and a good time with our friends. Dillon will be staying with our parents and we know he will also have a blast with them!
I know I think I have said "I love this age" at about every stage Dillon has gone through, but I really do love this age! :) Its so fun to see what he is going to learn how to say or do next! He is so smart too! He can point to his nose, eyes, ears, head, mouth, tongue, belly, and pigges now. He says all kinds of words, or at least trys to. And I feel like he is saying something new everyday too. He, just a couple days ago started giving bear hugs, and its the best feeling in the world to have his little arms squeezed around your neck! Even with all of his sweetness he can still have his little stinker spells too. We are trying to quickly get over the "hitting stage" Hes only been doing it a couple days and I hope it doesn't last much longer. Darren and I are quickly learning how to punish him and what works best and what doesn't work at all. We have already had those moments when you punish him and he looks up at you and laughs or smiles. I now know how hard it is to not laugh back or to not just give in to those little dimples. He really is a great baby and everyday I can't wait to see what he learns next!
Again, I am so sorry its been so long. I know I am probably leaving a lot out, but I hope I touched on the important things going on right now. I am hoping to stay caught up and update as soon as I have more to tell and more pictures to show! HOpe you all are taking care of yourselves!! We love you!

Happy 1st Birthday Dillon!! (sorry its a little belated)

First of all, I am so incredibly sorry that it is now March, our Little mans birthday was a month ago and I am just now updating the blog! I will eventually get pictures up from the party too, but for now these are his birthday portraits that were taken a couple weeks before he turned 1! Both Dillon and the photographer (my Dad) did a wonderful job! Dillon was not walking at that time yet and barely standing by himself so I wasn't for sure how it would work. He LOVED the cake part, if you couldn't tell. He definitely did not want it taken away!
Dillon's big birthday party was a success! After several months of planning and stressing I can honestly say it was a ton of fun and I'm kind of glad its over! I can't say I'm glad that my baby boy is already 1 year old, but he sure is fun though! The party's theme was "Winter ONEderland" It was full of blue and white snowflakes and big number 1 balloons and decorations. Dillon had so much fun and he loved the attention! By the end of the day he was exhausted though! We went home and he took an almost three hour nap! We would like to thank all of you again that were a big part of his day in coming to celebrate with him and for all of the wonderful gifts you gave! He is definitely a blessed little boy as well as we are blessed to have you all in our lives!
March update:
Dillon started walking a couple days before his birthday and on his birthday he ended up taking off and trying to run even. I can now say he is everywhere and loves that he can do it all by himself! He is definitely getting his little independent attitude. He trys to talk now, saying most words like Mommy, Daddy, Sissy (which is Bella our puppy), he has said Thank you and sheep too. He knows how a lizard goes, and now knows how a lion sounds. No Dog or Cat yet, :) This week has been nice enough to take him outside and play. That is his new found favorite thing to do! Now that hes big enough to run around its so much fun to watch him too. He even cries when we have to go inside. (which was cute the first time, now not so much)
Darren is still loving his new job. He is doing great and has even gotten a couple "praise" emails sent out by the president and big wig people of the company on his success! He has not had to travel too much, a couple overnight trips to Ohio, but nothing Dillon and I can't handle! I am still working and enjoying my job at Abstract and Title. Currently they cut our hours a little bit because of the real estate market being down. So I am now working 8-3 Mon - Fri, and I can't complain at all! I LOVE getting off early and getting to spend an extra hour with my baby boy!
In the Future:
I have scheduled my first vacation away from Darren and Dillon. I have booked a trip to Florida next month with my mom and my sister. It will be a very relaxing trip on the beach, but I am also starting to get pretty nervous about leaving Dillon for five days! I thought for sure I would be totally fine, but he is getting to the point where he does not like for me to leave and he knows when I am gone. I will be fine and I know he will be fine, It will just be hard to leave. I can probably say that this will be the first time I will be glad to come home from FL! :) I am excited to see how it goes and I know that Daddy and Dillon will have so much fun being bachelors for the week! Darren is very very excited to have him all to himself and do little father son things!
Darren and I have a couple weddings coming up that we are excited about too. Both of which Darren is in. One next month and one coming up in June, where Darren and I will be flying to Las Vegas for. We are extremely excited! But again, it will be bittersweet leaving little munchkin at home again! We are hoping to get in a family vacation this summer as well. Probably to St.Louis again (Daddy wants Dillon to watch another Cards game) or somewhere in good driving distance. It will be a different experience with a walking toddler instead of a baby! :) We are excited for our future plans! I promise I will update soon with other adventures we find ourselves on! Thanks for checking in!! WE love you all!! HAPPY SPRING!
